Suunto xml format
#3
Hi Christian,

Thanks for the swift reply.

I have added a zip file with a couple of routes that I did today as an example of the Suunto xml format. The first is a walk (slow, as I’m recovering from a leg injury) to my local shops and was recorded at 10sec. intervals. The second was a drive to a local garage with the log interval set to 1sec. The beauty about this watch is that you can customise multiple GPS settings and change them by just selecting the new profile when you are out and about - nice!!.

You asked about details and documents about this watch and file format, so listed below are a few weblinks that I think you will find helpful.

http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/04/suunt...eview.html - this is a very comprehensive review of the watch itself, and also a detailed look at Suunto’s analysis software.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgyL3PfbTcA - Here’s a video review from a user after 6 months experience with the watch.

http://www.movescount.com/ - This is Suunto’s data analysis portal for checking your progress.

http://www.movescount.com/connect/moveslinkmac - This link provides the PC/Mac software necessary to interrogate the watch and download the data.

https://code.google.com/p/ambit2gpx/wiki/Readme This is a program called ‘ambit2gpx’ that runs a Python script to convert the Suunto xml file to GPX format (not sure it’s of any use to you - its all greek to me I’m afraid ;-)

http://ns.suunto.com/Manuals/Ambit2/User...ide_EN.pdf - Finally, here is the User Manual in case it is of any use.

Many thanks for your support with this request, it is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, … John
