I have a route set up in Google Maps with 24 destinations, actual destinations, not just 'route through here' by dragging the route. The links both (short and long) open the exactly correct route, but when I drag the link into RouteConverter, only 4 waypoints are placed on the map, so the route is obviously very different. Those 4 waypoints are the only ones that show they have co-ordinates, the others are just names, which is no doubt why RouteConverter cannot place them.
When I study the URL produced by Google Maps, there are indeed only 4 sets of co-ordinates. The other waypoints are just names, in some cases, just the road name. But somehow, the information contained in the URL is sufficient for Google Maps to accurately place the waypoints. Unfortunately, it seems that RouteConverter is unable to do the same.
Is there any way that RouteConverter can make full use of ALL the waypoints from a Google Maps' URL?
Would it be any better if the route was first exported to KML?
How can one currently export a Google Maps' route to KML. Every method I've tried seems to be broken. Google appear to be doing their best to prevent anyone from doing this, but if anyone can suggest how it is still possible, please let me know. (appending &output=kml doesn't work).

Hi,
suggest to prepare a example URL without private data and post this URL here.

Here's a short link to a prepared route in Google Maps:-
http://goo.gl/maps/XeBjs
The full URL can be found once the page is open, but drop that long URL onto RC and only 4 waypoints are shown on the map as they're the only ones with co-ordinates. So how does Google ascertain their exact location from that same URL?

Currently none that I'm aware of.

Until about 1,5 years ago, appending &output=kml did the trick. Then one had to save a route in MyTracks and download it as kml. Since the new Google Maps is online this option is gone, too.

Same observation here.

It's that lengthy

That's what I guessed. I also assume therefore that there's no way anyone else can decode that.
It's been a nightmare having to export each map to KML as Google Maps screws up more than half the time. Dropping waypoints, shuffling them, or simply not saving anything to the file at all. And that’s not mentioning the odd behaviour of how you HAVE to create a new ‘map’ in the same window as you then load and save the actual map to that just created ‘map’. Otherwise, it’s just not listed and available to use.
It even sounds confusing. Really, how hard can it be. They have a list of waypoints and can easily obtain the co-ordinates for each and simply save them into an XML file. It's not rocket science. How can they have so comprehensively totally f*****d it up. It beggars belief it really does.
It would be unacceptable from a schoolboy, let alone one of the world’s largest and richest corporations (bizarrely).
Thanks for your help and for RouteConverter, the only part of the process that actually worked.
