Buttons in offline edition

Thanks for this great program !! Very nice and easy to use. I have a question regarding the offline version of the program.

The online edition has two very convenient buttons in the map area, namely "Turn on zoom mode" and "Turn on select mode". The offline edition does not have these buttons as it seems.

I find these buttons very convenient to select part of a track on the map. Are these features somewhere hidden in the offline version ? And if they are not: why are they not available in the offline version.

These features are not somewhere hidden. They simply don't exist. And that's because the map implementations of the online and offline share nothing. There are completely different technologies behind the scenes, so every feature has to be implemented twice.
