OffLine edition - Not calculating route
#1
After the recent Google requirements of an API key I have decided to use the Offline Version.

Setup - Win 7, Java 1.8 151 ( latest version of Java tried as well). Latest Prerelease RouteConverterOffline version.

Offline edition displays a straight red line from one waypoint to the next, exactly the same as a track.
Extras/Downloads - Shows all as Not Modified.  Restarted downloads and none required to be modified - I assume this means that they have been downloaded unless . The different maps open and display correctly.

I have tried it on a different computer with Win10 and got the same results.
I am very upset as I really like the RouteConverter and hope there will be a solution soon.

Christian - anything else I should try?

That means the routing engine doesn't deliver a route.

I've uploaded a new prerelease with enhanced debugging output. Could you try it and the send me the log via Help/Send Error Report...?

Christian - First apologies for the late reply but somehow I missed the notification.

Online Edition -2.25 - API error as expected

Offline Edition -2.25 - Success !! - I have a route line now - Hooray!!! . Well done and many thanks!

Now if we can get the Zoom +/- function back it will make route planning much easier ...............

There is a Zoom selection box and you can use Ctrl + and -

What exactly are you missing?

Just the convenience of the + / - buttons of the Online Edition. Much easier to zoom in/out using the touchpad and somehow only Ctrl - works on mine. Please note that Ctrl +/- works ok on all other apps.

Is not really a show stopper but if not too difficult to implement then it will be a nice touch. At this moment I have to click on the dropdown menu, choose a zoom, wait to zoom, then choose another if not right and so on...... and I use zoom quite a lot when planning a route

I guess a lot of the RouteConverter users will be switching over to the Offline Edition now

It's rather a matter of the space - I'm using the Java Swing controls and they take a lot more space than the Google Maps zoom control. Adding a plus and minus button in the map menu will blow it up a lot.

Strange. What are you using for a machine?

"Strange. What are you using for a machine?" - My trusty old Lenovo W700 laptop, Win7. Its old, twin HDU set as Raid 1, but still good :-)
But... the same happens on a Lenovo Yoga with win10 - ctrl - works but not the +

(How do you manage to quote parts of a post in your reply? )

Maybe ctrl + has a meaning on Windows?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/help...-shortcuts lists

Ctrl + plus (+) or Ctrl + minus (-)

Zoom in or out of a large number of items, like apps pinned to the Start screen

I am not sure but Ctrl + and Ctrl - work OK with the Online edition V2.11.
Both +/- work OK when on Internet ie RouteConverter forum and also with pdf files in Adobe Acrobat for example

Hello,
I'm having the same issue with 2.24.1 (offline): it does not route between two points. I tried all the 3 services for routing with no luck.

Thanks!
