Google maps (satellite or hybrid) : monstruous errors !
#1
Hello,

I just discover that, in some regions, Google maps (satellite or hybrid) in RC are completely misaligned !
There are positioning errors of more 500m in some cases...

But, it does not happen with "the" Google Maps service on the Web (the maps are not the same).

So, do you know why these maps are not the same ? Not the good servers used by RC ?

Here is an example (attachements) in French Alps, at the border between the good and the bad.
It is easy to see that there is a big problem in the maps displayed by RC (not the RC fault, but Google servers).

As you can see in the tileservers.xml RouteConverter uses
http://#{host}/vt/lyrs=m&hl=#{language}&x=#{tilex}&y=#{tiley}&z=#{zoom}

If Google internally uses different tiles, different access paths - the output is different.

I have no idea why this happens and how to do anything about it.

Have you double checked with the other satellite maps?

Hello,

This problem was with all apps which uses Google Map Servers.
A region of about 60 km x 80 km was wrong.

But, you know what ? It's correct now ! May be one Google guy read this forum ;-)

Here is the same area, today :
