When I try to register my GPX file, I find the following message :
Mistake during the save of "null" en "test.gpx" : / test.gpx (permission denied)

the error message is not nice, I'll try to improve this.

Basically, the error is that you're trying to store your file in the root folder of the file system where you're not allowed to write.

I agree, but if you watch my video, you can see that I try to register my file to Home directory.

I hope a solution because your software is very attractive for Garmin GPS user

This time I tried to register directly to the directory of my GPS

Due to the quality of the video I cannot see that you're storing not in the root folder. And the error message says again "Permission Denied". I've tried it on my Mac and it's possible to write files with RouteConverter into the home directory.

Btw, the save dialog that comes up is completely different on my 10.11.6 OS X. Which version are you using?

I tried with success your software with a computer over Windows 10 and the same version of Java than Linux  

Inside my last video, I tried to save my gpx file directly inside my GPS /Media/jclaudej/Garmin/GPX and in this case I am not inside Root directory !
I think the problem is inside the software because why isn't possible to change the name of the file.
Please look at the following picture.
