New Copilot 10 data format

Copilot have released version 10 of their Android app. Do you plan to add an option within Routeconverter to save a route in the new Copilot10 format? It does seem to be a little different from version 9.

I am grateful for any help you can offer to update this.

I have attached 2 files which are identical routes involving basically 3 points: Start, Waypoint, Destination. So the differences in the file formats can be examined between the 2 versions.
The Copilot 9 format seems to load ok within the new Copilot 10 android app, but I am stlll testing for any errors. The new Copilot 10 version does show some strange behaviour, but I really need to do more testing.


I have attached the 2 trip files. I had to change the file extension to .txt for uploading purposes, but it should really be set back to .trp.

The files are:
Test file created Routeconverter.txt - this was created using Copilot 9 format within Routeconverter
Test Vers10 Android.txt - created using latest Copilot 10 version on an Android phone

These are basically text files, but contain a lot of parameter settings. I am not sure whether this makes any difference to loading a trip file.

Sorry, it sounds like quite a bit of work to examine this, but there are a lot of Copilot users out there.

This is just an Error correction to last file attachment. Somehow the file above - Test vers10 android.txt - had only 2 points. Attached is the correct android file with 3 points so they can be compared. I am still trying to get used to using the new Copilot 10 app.

Here are the 2 files. The copilot9 file was created and saved using RC. The Android copilot10 app reads this file with no problems, so no changes were made to read it. I then saved the file on the Android app which would save using version 10.

Although the files do have differences, RC seems to read both files correctly. So I think there is no need to change anything. It all seems to work fine with the new Copilot 10 app.

am Besten sendest Du mir die Datei, die RouteConverter nicht mehr öffnen möchte, per EMail oder lädst sie als ZIP hier im Forum hoch. Dann kann ich mir anschauen, was dort passiert, und helfen.

Hello, I also am having problems opening Copilot Version 10 *.trp format files in RC.

RC (Open Source Edition Version 2.30 from September 7, 2021 on Windows 10) won't open the attached .trp file created on Copilot (V10.19.0.2281 on Android V11) properly.  In RC, I attempt to open the file (remove the ".txt" in the filename) as a "Copilot 9 (*.trp)" format file.  The open fails as the RC "position" list is never populated and there are no error messages from RC that I can see.

that's true. Actually, you've provided an example file with another variant of a CoPilot format.
This Copilot 10-produced file uses some kind of JSON-structure instead of the line-bases approach of earlier releases.

RouteConverter cannot read it which means someone has to implement support for it. From the structure, it looks similar to the Navigon Cruiser format:
